We often get asked for a basic soldering kit, low cost, but functional.

This Kit is produced to meet those requirements.

Step 1 - Remove the old part

Step 2 - Install the replacement part

Step 3 - Tidy up the work

A basic soldering iron, we chose to go with 25W, mains powered. It does the job! And it has a nice fine tip. Use for Steps 1 & 2

Before you can fit a new component, you need the old one out. We added de-solder braid, which is the easiest way to de-solder, Place the braid over the solder to be removed and heat it with the iron. Capilliary action wickes the solder into the fine copper strands. Simple and effective. Use for Step 1

We supply Stannol branded Lead- Tin Solder. Its good!

There is no compromise here, just the best quality solder, after all, this is the part that matters. Use for Step 2

(When you only solder occasionally, lead-free can be problematic, and cheap solderis just nasty. If you want lead-free instead, just ask, we are happy to oblige. If you want cheap solder, sorry, we don't recommend it.)

Finally, your part is installed, to finish the job properly

we supply a set of Draper Redline branded Side Cutters to snip off the excess wire from your repair. Use for Step 3
