The Arduino GSM Shield with integrated GSM antenna is designed to provide internet connection, via a GPRS wireless network, to an Arduino board. It will be possible, with the appropriate network operator permissions, to connect to the internet, make and receive telephone calls and send or receive SMS messages. To connect, the module plugs into an Arduino board and a SIM card from a GPRS operator is inserted into the shield SIM card slot. The shield utilises a quad-band radio modem and communicates with the board using AT commands.
